Shhhhh it's a SECRET!!!

Shhhh....can I tell you a Secret?

It's the key....it's the fairy dust......

the secret ingredient....the magic sauce.....

the one thing you're searching for....

the thing that all the successful people seem to possess.....

it's that elusive one thing that if you could get your hands on you could be successful too - at whatever you want to do....

it sounds SO simple, but don't underestimate it's power!

Do you want to know what it is?

The secret is.......

CONSISTENCY!

Yup, it's easy to do, but just as easy not to.

Consistency at anything is the secret....
the magic fairy dust...to creating any result...
in anything in life!

Use this secret wisely!

It's taking a simple positive action and doing it every single day.

Want to lose weight? You don't have to be powerfully motivated, or do massive amounts of exercise, or go on the latest fad diet.  Take a couple of positive actions - cut out junk food, cut out sugar, exercise 30 mins a day.  Simply, hey?  But so simple it's easy not to do.  Compound those simple couple of actions by a couple of months and you have yourself some results!

Want to learn something? Too busy to do a course, or study? Start by reading the books - 10 mins a day.  10 minutes is easy to find for even the busiest of people.  At the end of a month you would have read for 5 hours.  At the end of 6 months - 30 hours of reading time.  After 1 year of still only reading for just 10 minutes a day you would have read for over 60 hours!  Imagine what you could learn in 60 hours!!  That's the compound effect!

So...if it's that simple...then why aren't more people having success with it?

Well, it's just that - it's so simple to do....that it's easy to say, oh it won't matter if I skip it today.  It won't matter if I just do it once a week, instead of every day. But you know what?  It DOES matter! It's so easy NOT to do, that most people just don't do it!

So, here's my little challenge for you. Pick something that you want to do. Schedule time every day to do it - don't make it so big that it's not achievable.  It may be as simple as clearing up some paperwork - spend 5-10 minutes a day for the next month doing just that.  Keep it to your 5-10 minutes.  Don't get bogged down with it and say you are doing it so you may as well keep going.  Stick to the 5-10 mins.  Walk away and smile knowing that you have done it for the day.  Come back tomorrow and do it again.  And the next day...and the next.  For 1 month...make a commitment, and follow through.  See just what you will achieve.  Celebrate your wins...enjoy what you have been able to achieve.

Then take this lesson and apply it to anything in life you want to see results!

RIP Zig Ziglar

The passing of yet another giant in the personal development industry - Zig Ziglar will be fondly remembered, but sadly missed.

I have seen Zig's quotes around for decades and they always make me smile.  He had such a straight forward way about him.  He certainly didn't hint at anything - he told you straight up - no fluff and nonsense, but just what you needed to hear.

Here are a few of my favourite quotes in tribute to a very inspiring man:

#1 -  "People often say that motivation doesn't last.  Well, neither does bathing --that's why we recommend it daily."

#2 - What you get by reaching your destination is not nearly as important as what you will become by reaching your destination.

#3 - The most practical, beautiful, workable philosophy in the world won't work - if you won't.

#4 - We all need a daily check up from the neck up to avoid stinkin' thinkin' which ultimately leads to hardening of the attitudes.

#5 - Of all the "attitudes" we can acquire, surely the attitude of gratitude is the most important and by far the most life-changing.

#6 - Character gets you out of bed; commitment moves you to action. Faith, hope, and discipline enable you to follow through to completion.

#7 - I'm so optimistic I'd go after Moby Dick in a row boat and take the tartar sauce with me.

#8 - Success is one thing you can't pay for.  You buy it on the installment plan and make payments every day.

#9 - Discipline yourself to do the things you need to do when you need to do them, and the day will come when you will be able to do the things you want to do when  you want to do them!

#10 - Remember, you can earn more money, but when time is spent it is gone forever.

RIP Zig Ziglar - 1926 - 2012
