Word of the Day: IMPLEMENTATION - to put into effect according to or by means of a definite plan or procedure.
I was on a brilliant training call this morning, took so many notes and got a lot of tips that I can really use in my business. The word Implementation was used along with commitment and passion to describe one of the top leaders in our business who is very focused on getting the results she wants. This really got me thinking about myself and asking the question: Do I implement what I learn?
I see myself as a student. I am always on the look-out for little gems of information, little golden nuggets of inspiration, success tips or life lessons that I can take and apply to my situation, to my circumstances and my life. One of my favourite quotes is from Zig Ziglar: "People often say that Motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing. That's why we recommend it daily". I truly believe that doing some form of personal development on a daily basis is vital if you are looking to achieve any goals, or get any kind of results in life. There is so many sources out there as my bookshelf can attest to. I have read many books from great minds such as Jim Rohn, Steven Covey, Robert Kiyosaki, Jeff Olsen, Darren Hardy and the list goes on.
But it is one thing to read these books and put them back on the shelf to collect dust. It is an entirely different thing to take some of the gold nuggets you find, and apply them in a practical way that you can use each and every day to actually deliver on the results you want.
The success education curriculum that I sell and use in my daily life has the added benefit of thought-provoking questions, exercises and activities that build on what you are learning and assist you to implement them into your life. I am truly grateful for having found this company and this curriculum as it has made a huge difference to my effectiveness and happiness in getting more out of life. (Send me an email via my website with this link if you want to know more about this life-changing curriculum - 'email Susan')
Now when I read a book I like to have a pencil and a highlighter with me so I can mark points that I can use and make notes. If it is a book I do not want to mark, then I have a notebook that I can jot down the main points and page numbers. The last couple of books I have been reading I have endeavoured to implement at least one thing from each book. It's not always easy, and I don't always get it done, or get it right, and it is something that I know I can improve upon. But it is something that I am more aware of doing now.
So, my challenge to you is to implement just 1 idea/concept/action into your life from the next personal development book or e-book you read.
Here's to your Success!
